Grimoire (or Grimuar in Polish) is an old book bound in gilded leather, containing secret magical knowledge. Grimuar is also a Students' Club of Fantastics and Role-Playing Games Lovers founded in Lublin; since 2003 it associates fans of fantastic RPG worlds, extraordinary literature, unusual films and other phenomena existing within the frame of fantastics.



Since its very beginning Grimuar has been catching attention of every single person with vivid imagination. That is why from a little organization working within the UMCS campus it became a club whose works are known not only in Lublin, the Capital of the East -  its name has been heard in all prominent Polish cities. For many years besides intensive fandom activity, Grimuar has been organizing the most extraordinary ways to spend their free time – Monday meetings with interesting lectures, photo sessions, Role-Playing Games and paratheatrical events. The latter are also called LARPs, and historical, film or romantic settings are nothing unusual. We prepare our outfits with equal passion - whether they are Victorian, pirate or post-apocalyptic - to become else for a couple of hours, and live in the land of imagination.

And everything for the sake of fun. However, it's not always the case. Members of Grimuar also do a lot for other people. We travel all around Poland in order to share our knowledge on lectures or to organize LARPs during conventions – great feasts for fantastics lovers. On the Internet, we work with other portals connected with fantastics and Role-Playing Games; we have also created our own site, concerned with Victorian and Steampunk themes. We also co-operate with similar clubs from other cities, as Puławy or Wrocław. Several times a year we organize our miniconvention - Akademikon, where everyone has a chance to try and take part in a proffessionaly prepared RPG session. Once a year we organize our own fantastics convention called tyciKON – the 3rd edition took place in May 2009, during Kozienalia. Last but not least – summer RPG camps, big integrational parties (in outfits, of course), trips to conventions, as well as somewhat less formal social meetings...

And all of these things you can find in this one club, which is open to everyone! In our times, it is something rare. It is real magic.
